Animals in Entertainment

Animals in entertainment endure environments engineered for human spectacle, not for their wellbeing. From travelling circuses to dolphin shows, from “swim with sharks” tourism to roadside zoos, performance industries depend on confinement, training through deprivation, and the suppression of natural behaviour. South Africa’s animal-entertainment sector remains lightly regulated. Beauty Without Cruelty has campaigned against animal circuses, captive cetaceans, and exotic-animal performances for fifty-one years — pushing for legislation, exposing operators, and offering audiences alternatives that don’t depend on captive suffering.
