Description
No animal should endure a life of chains, whips, and confinement for human entertainment. The End the Circus of Cruelty campaign is dedicated to eradicating the use of animals in circuses and ensuring a future where all beings live free from exploitation and harm.
The Problem
- Animals in circuses endure a lifetime of inherent abuse, from harsh training, travel, noise, lights, confinement and the inability to express normal behaviour.
- Many countries have already banned animals in circuses, but South Africa continues to lag behind.
- Rescued animals need safe spaces to recover and live the rest of their lives in peace.
Our Vision
A world where no animal is subjected to cruelty for entertainment. Through advocacy and rescue efforts, we aim to end the use of animals in circuses and provide them with a chance to heal and thrive.
What We’re Doing
- Lobbying for legislation to ban the use of animals in circuses across South Africa.
- Educating the public about the cruelty behind the scenes of animal performances.
- Supporting sanctuaries that rescue and rehabilitate animals freed from circuses.
If you’ve not done so yet, please help get our message to the major decision makers in the Western Cape.
Your donation will help us:
- Fund advocacy campaigns to push for legislative change.
- Support educational programs to raise awareness about the cruelty of animal circuses.
- Provide resources for sanctuaries to care for rescued animals.
Join the movement to end the circus of cruelty. Together, we can ensure a future where animals are no longer exploited for human entertainment.
